The Indian rupee strengthened by 0.60%, followed by the Thai baht, which rose 0.57%. The South Korean won gained 0.48%, while the Philippine peso advanced 0.42%. Other regional currencies also posted gains, including the Taiwan dollar (+0.35%), Malaysian ringgit (+0.28%), Singapore dollar (+0.26%), Japanese yen (+0.14%), Chinese yuan (+0.07%), and Hong Kong dollar (+0.004%).<\/p>\n
The widespread appreciation across Asian currencies coincided with a decline in the US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the greenback\u2019s performance against a basket of major global currencies.<\/p>\n
By midday trading, the index had fallen to 99.39, down from 99.74 at the close of the previous week, reflecting softer demand for the US dollar in global currency markets.<\/p>\n
The stronger rupiah and broader regional currency gains suggest improving market sentiment toward Asian assets as investors respond to changing expectations surrounding global economic conditions and US dollar movements.<\/p>\n
